New NW Builds Today, Larger XL Swell Soon

A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for all Maui County waters through 6 p.m. Monday with winds from 20 to 25 knots and seas up to 11 feet.
A High Surf Advisory is posted for the north shores of Molokai and Maui through 6 p.m. Monday.

Maui Surf Forecast
North: Wave heights are building through the day up to well overhead or even double overhead. The top spots at the best tides could get up to triple overhead in size.
West: Wrap from the northwest swell affecting some western shores today will build. Spots with northern exposure could get well overhead or more.
South: Wave heights are waist high or less today out of the south-southwest.
A new shot of northwest swell is expected to build today, hold through Tuesday morning, then fade. A solid large northwest swell is expected to build Wednesday, peaking overnight and fading through the second half of the week. It has potential to be XL or even XXL, will keep an eye on the models.
Not much expected out of the SPAC the next few days. A small swell could fill in starting Monday/Tuesday, peak Tuesday before fading back down.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
