E Ho‘oulu ‘Ike Stone Carving Workshop March 14
The Maui Historical Society’s E Ho‘oulu ‘Ike: Cultural Enrichment Workshops program continues with its Kalai Pohaku: Kukui Hele Po Stone Carving workshop on Monday, March 14, 2016, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Hale Ho‘ike‘ike (Bailey House Museum) in Wailuku.
Master Carver and Hawaiian Traditionalist Hoaka Delos Reyes will present a selection of his art and working implements and create kukui hele po—traditional Hawaiian stone lamps.
Maile Delos Reyes will have Iced Mamaki Lemongrass Tea and `Ulu Kalo Cornbeef Burgers for sale during the lunch hours to benefit the historical society.
The workshop is free; no registration is necessary.
The activity is also free of charge until supplies run out.
Ohana Delos Reyes, the Maui Historical Society and the Hawaii Tourism Authority are sponsoring this workshop.
