The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division, announced that due to insufficient staffing, the Hāna Landfill will close at 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 27, through Saturday, April 30, 2016.
Department officials say the closures are necessary for the department to ensure safe operations and to meet the minimum State Department of Health operating requirements of the County’s solid waste permit.
