Staff Shortage Disrupts Refuse Pickups in Kahului

Due to a staff shortage, residential refuse on two collection routes in Kahului was not picked up on Thursday, June 23, 2016. All missed pickups are expected to be completed today, Friday, June 24, 2016.

Affected areas on the first Kahului route include: Ani Street; Polani Street; Akalei Place; Meli Place; Lehua Street; Lono Avenue; Kuʻualoha Street; Kuʻuhale Street; Kealohilani Street; Kuʻukama Street; Kuʻuhoa Street; Nanimalu Place; Pōʻai Place, Polu Place; Hoaloha Place and all surrounding streets and roads.

Affected areas on the second Kahului Route include: Papahi Loop; Hoʻowehi Place; Hoʻoui Place; West Makahehi Place; East makahei Place, Molehulehu Loop, Hoʻoheno Street; Hōkū Puhipaka Street and all surrounding streets and roads.

Representatives with the County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division, apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the public in advance for their understanding and cooperation.
