Maui Surf Forecast
North: Wave heights are expected to be around thigh/waist/chest high today.
West: Surf is ankle/knee high today.
South: Surf is around knee/thigh high today with occasionally bigger sets.
Only trace amounts of swell for Monday out of the south. A south-southwest swell will line up starting Tuesday, peaking Wednesday and Thursday.
Trade swell will hold for the next few days with onshore conditions for windward sides.
Tropical system Conson (east of Mariana Islands) isn’t looking like a wave maker for us. Mid-period north-northwest could be possible for 19th or so if a small storm develops out of the Bering Sea. Models are showing activity in the West Pacific so there is potential for swell energy out of that region in the future.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
