Maui Surf Forecast
North: Wave heights are expected to be around waist/chest high today. Trade swell spots could get sets up to shoulder high.
West: Surf is ankle/knee high today. Spots catching the south-southwest stay below waist high.
South: Surf is knee/thigh high or less today.
Our current south-southwest swell is down to leftovers with small background southwest and southeast energy filtering in. The SPAC is going quiet for a while with potential for new south-southwest swell around September 5th or so.
Trade swell will continue for the next few days with onshore conditions for windward sides. Swell will shift a bit more easterly through mid week. The NPAC is looking pretty quiet as well but models are showing potential activity in the West and East Pacific so there is possible swell energy out of that region in the future… perhaps the first week of September.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
