Q: How do I know if my house is in a flood zone, and if so, how do I get flood insurance?

A: To get a general idea of the flood zone areas in Maui County, check out the white pages in the front of your Hawaiian TelCom phone book. For more detailed flood zone information on your exact property’s location, visit www.floodsmart.gov to view flood maps and to determine the level of flood risk for your home. You’ll find information for both residential and commercial properties, as well as tips on what property owners can do before, during and after a flood event.
