Refuse Routes Down in Lahaina, Haʻikū and Makawao

Lahaina manpower shortage.

Due to a manpower shortage, a refuse route is down in the Lahaina area on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016. At the same time, mechanical problems have affected refuse routes for the Haʻikū and Makawao areas as well.

The affected routes in Lahaina include: Lower Honoapiʻilani Road; Kahana; Nāpili; Wahikuli; Kahoma; Hawaiian Homes; Aʻa Street; ʻĀinakea Street; and Waineʻe Street.

Affected routes in Makawao include: Makawao Avenue; Kealaloa Avenue; Miner Place; Key Road; Piʻikea Place; Olinda Road; Baldwin Avenue; ʻUkiu Road; and Makawao Ranch Acres.

Affected routes in Haʻikū include: Kauhikoa Road; Haʻikū Road; West Kuiaha Road; East Kuiaha Road; Ulumalu Road; Kaupakalua Road; and Holokai Road.

All surrounding streets and roads are also affected. All routes will be completed on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016.) The department apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the public in advance for their understanding and cooperation.
