Maui Surf Forecast
North: Wave heights are expected to be around waist high or less for spots catching the NNE swell. Meanwhile, surf heights are expected around waist-chest-shoulder high for the better east exposed spots of the island.
West: Surf hangs mainly around waist high or less across better exposures. Spots from Kihei to around Olowalu/Lahaina will be smaller or even flat due to shadowing from the other islands.
South: Small South swell. Select summer magnets pull in inconsistent waves up to belly-chest high.
Certain sections on the leeward West-SW side of Maui (such as around Lahaina and from around Kihei through Makena) will see a diurnal wind pattern; with calm to light/variable wind through the early to mid morning, followed by a light+ onshore sea breeze in the afternoon.
Keep in mind surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
