Lithium-Ion Battery Charging Device Left on Bed in Waiehu Home Fire

Volunteers with the American Red Cross responded to a residential fire reported on Alakai Street in Wailuku on Sunday night, Oct. 9, 2016.

Organization leaders say they are assisting eight people who were affected by the fire to ensure their immediate emergency needs of food, shelter and clothing are met.

The incident was reported at around 10:15 p.m. in Waiehu, about a tenth of a mile west of Lower Waiehu Beach Road.
