The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa celebrated the opening of its refreshed meeting and event spaces and new Regency Club with a traditional Hawaiian blessing.
The blessing honored the enhanced Monarchy Ballroom, updated outdoor Hālona Kai Event Lawn overlooking the Pacific Ocean and new Regency Club.
Hyatt Regency Maui, an LEED EBOM certified resort, unveiled the transformed spaces following a renovation that began earlier this year.
Hyatt Regency Maui celebrated the inaugural event on the Hālona Kai Event Lawn on Sunday, Oct. 16 during the 6th Annual Hawaiʻi Food and Wine Festival.
The meeting and event spaces feature Maui-inspired designs and that feature improved lighting and air quality, as well as a reduction in energy usage.
The refreshed Regency Club has been relocated to the lobby level and now offers a larger outdoor terrace with ocean views and the resort’s Oriental Gardens.
“We’re eager to reveal our newly enhanced spaces at Hyatt Regency Maui following the traditional Hawaiian blessing,” said Allan Farwell, General Manager at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa.
“The Hawaiʻi Food and Wine Festival is an annual event our team looks forward to each year and it’s fitting the first event on the Hālona Kai Event Lawn showcased the fantastic food and wine leaders in the local Maui community. In addition to providing the local community with one of Maui’s newest destinations for social gathering and events, we look forward to welcoming new and returning guests to the resort and providing them with a modern Hawaiian experience complete with beautiful meeting and event spaces,” said Farwell.
The Hālona Kai Event Lawn features a synthetic lawn entertaining space ringed with lush greenery and local flora. The event space is surrounded by a koi pond that allows for presentations or wedding ceremonies without additional equipment, resort executives said. Additionally, the area has been updated with acoustic and audio/visual systems and wired with 200 amp outlets and data and television cabling, creating “seamless technology connectivity.”
Resort executives say the enhanced Monarchy Ballroom has been transformed into a sophisticated and contemporary room that reflects the history and culture of Maui. Included in this renovation is low-e coated glass to minimize ultraviolet and infrared light, while maintaining the amount of natural light transmitted. Indoor air quality has been improved with modern automation controls. Meeting rooms have occupancy lighting sensors and lighting was replaced with LED, reducing wattage and electricity usage by approximately 65%.
The refreshed Regency Club Lounge offers guests a comfortable and spacious lounge, easy beach access, as well as lānai seating with views of the Pacific Ocean and the resort’s Oriental Gardens that feature wildlife, waterfalls and Swan Lagoon.
The Regency Club offers daily complimentary continental breakfast, daily local and national newspapers, light snacks and refreshments throughout the day and light hors d’oeuvres and Hawaiian-inspired desserts in the evenings.
