Erlinda deCastro Oandasan, 76, of Kailua Kona, Hawaiʻi, was born in the Philippines on Nov. 16, 1939, and passed away on Oct. 23, 2016 in Kealakekua, Hawaiʻi. Erlinda was a home maker and a dedicated and faithful pioneer at Jehovah’s Witness Church.

She is survived by sons Henry (Liezl) Oandasan of Kahului, Maui; Jesus (Tanya) Oandasan of Kamuela; Adonis Oandasan of Kailua Kona; daughters Rosalinda Oandasan of Kailua Kona; Magnolia (Rogene) Agatep of Kailua Kona; Madona Oandasan of Kailua Kona; Joan (Adrian) Granderson of San Antonio, Texas; Gloria (Divigio) Miralles of Kailua Kona; Maritess (Exekiel) Agatep of Kailua Kona; brother Antonio deCastro of the Philippines; sisters Yolanda deCastro Chan of Hong Kong, China; Elizabeth Bartolome of the Philippines; Christina deCastro Delacruz of the Philippines; Sonia deCastro of the Philippines; Vilma Bautista of the Philippines; Milagros deCastro Luz of the Philippines; 36 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Kaloko Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.

Linda Natividad Barut, 58, of Kahului, passed away on Oct. 19, 2016, at her home, under the care of Islands Hospice. She was born on March 5, 1958, in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.

Visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at Christ the King Catholic Church; eulogy will begin at 7:45 p.m.; prayer service starts at 8:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at Christ the King Catholic Church; mass will begin at 11 a.m.; burial will follow, 12:30 p.m., at Maui Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Meditation, in Wailuku.

Linda was a Room Attendant at the Wailea Marriott Hotel. She was predeceased by her father, Perfecto Natividad. She is survived by her husband, Eliseo S. Barut; mother, Dominga Natividad; sons, Christopher (Zenaida) Barut, Chester Barut (Regina Nagtalon); daughter, Cherilynn (Zane) Ugalino; brothers, Joe (Delia) Natividad, Ely (Violeta) Natividad, Ferdinand (Janet) Natividad, Rudy (Annie) Natividad, Genaro (Mary Jane – deceased) Natividad, Jorge (Monica) Natividad; sisters, Editha (Alex) Caoile, Flor (Alejo) Ramit, Joycelyn (Ronel) Acoba; and grandchildren, Zachary Jordan, Zane Jansen, Zedric Jonathan, Chiara Angel Marie, and Chezarey Reynelle Rane.

Holly Marie Salisbury, 37, of Kailua Kona, Hawaiʻi, was born in Phoenix, Ariozna on July 22, 1979, and passed away on Oct. 17, 2016 in Kealakekua, Hawaiʻi. Holly was a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch. She is survived by parents Leslie and Barbara Salisbury of Kailua Kona.

Barbara Denis Medeiros, 82, of Kailua Kona, Hawaii, was born in Honolulu on Feb. 7, 1934, and passed away in October 2016. Barbara worked as an artist and tax preparer.

She is survived by husband Carlos of 63 years; sons Charles “Chuck” (Lenisue) Medeiros of Las Gatos, California; Joel (Jerlene) Merdeiros of Kailua Kona; Timothy (Tina) Medeiros of Kailua Kona; sister Carol Souza of Kaneohe, Oʻahu; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 with visitation beginning at 8 a.m. and services at 10 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Church in Kaloa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Michael the Archangel’s Church Building Fund in Kailua Kona.

Jeff Jerome Pagan, Sr., 62, of Kahului, Maui, passed away on Oct. 17, 2016, under the care of Islands Hospice. He was born on Oct. 5, 1954, in Puʻunēnē, Maui.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at Norman’s Mortuary; service will begin at 7:30 p.m.; cremation will follow. The family requests no flowers.

Jeff was a retired Automotive Mechanic from Midas in Kahului. He is survived by his wife, D. Kim Sylva; sons, Jeff J. (Cathy) Pagan Jr., Wesley E. (Kahiwa) Pagan, Travis J. Pagan, Alex C. (Celia) Pagan; daughters, Michelle M. (David) Takahama, Sharee M. (Branden) Barut, Alicia A. (Ramsey) Pagan, Ashlee A. (Jaysen) Sanchez, Kaylee E. (Siaosi) Sylva-Pagan; brothers, Ralph Pagan, Leslie Pagan; sisters, Agnes Cravalho, Rose “Sita” Pagan, Linda Saranillio, Betty Texeira, Jane Ortiz, Kathleen Sandoval; 21 grandchildren; and 1 grandchild.

John E. Smith, Jr., 45, of Ocean View, Hawaiʻi, was born in Honolulu on April 8, 1971, and passed away on Oct. 16, 2016. John worked as a police officer and also as a Beekeeper.

He is survived by wife Eva Smith; children Naia Smith; Keanu Smith; Keala Smith; Nanalu Smith of Ocean View, Hawaii; and Max Smith of Palm Bay Florida; parents Katherine G Nalani Smith; and John (Elizabeth) Smith Sr. of Ocean View, Hawaiʻi; brothers David J. Brown (Raquel Gali) of Paradise Park, Hawaiʻi; Robert Brown (Leilani Ison) of San Francisco, California; Jason K. Smith of Arizona; and sister Rochelle T. Nobriga (David Bumgardner) of Hilo, Hawaiʻi; and 13 nieces and nephews.

John’s passions were fishing, diving and hunting. He also participated in assisting Kaʻu Lions Pop Warner football team.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016 at 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Ballard Family Mortuary-Hilo, 750 Kinoʻole St., Hilo Hawaiʻi.

Jean Desiree Twigg, 50, of Kahului, Maui, HI, went to be with our Lord Jesus on Oct. 16, 2016.
Jean was born in Hilo, Hawaiʻi on Oct. 19, 1965. She attended Waiakea High School. Jean professed her life to Christ at an early age. She joined Kings Cathedral and was involved in children’s ministry alongside her husband. Jean loved worshiping the Lord and praying for and with others, spending time with family, laughing and always carried a smile on her face. She had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.

Jean is survived by her parents, Juanita Valderama and Jose (Lolita) Valderama; husband George Twigg Jr.; sisters, Delia Wilson, Alma (Daniel) Beal, Maggie Valderama; brother, Jovanni Valderama and numerous nephews and nieces. Older sister Maria Oliphant precedes Jean in death.

Family and friends are invited to Kings Cathedral, 777 Mokulele Hwy, Kahului Hawaii on Oct. 26, 2016. Visitation at 10 a.m. with Service at 11 a.m., Reception to follow. Casual Attire, No Flowers.

Beverly Ann Byouk, 77, of Ocean View, Hawaiʻi, was born in Berkley, California on Oct. 10, 1939, and passed away on Oct. 15, 2016 in Ocean View, Hawaiʻi. Beverly was a Realator-Broker and served as a former President of the Kona Board of Realators, and with the Kaʻu Hawaiʻi Civic Club.

She is survived by partner James Shilzony; sister-in-law Miriam Byouk of Woodland, California; and niece Charlene (Mark) Miller of Woodland, California.

No services are scheduled.

Frank Kamakea Williams, 76, of Wailuku, passed away on Oct. 14, 2016 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on Dec. 16, 1939 on Oʻahu.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului, services will begin at 7 p.m.

Visitation will continue at Ballard Family Mortuary from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, services will begin at 11 a.m., and cremation will follow.

Frank was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked as a plant operator at Kaiser Cement Company and was a building contractor for Kapili Hale which he owned and operated.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Kaiue Williams; son, Jerry Williams; sister, Claire Leimomi Chewning; step-brother, Jerry Pacheco; step-sisters, Mary Ann Pacheco, and Gwen Alcantra; grandchildren, Frankie, Erica, Edie Mahealani, Ikaika Matthew, Aileen Williams, and Ashley Rodriguez; and great-grandson, Ikaika Pueo Williams, great-granddaughters, Alexis, Pi’ilani, Pualena, and Kiana Williams.

Frank was predeceased by his son, Frank Williams, and step-brother, Stanley Pacheco.

January 3, 1968 – October 13, 2016

Once diagnosed with colorectal cancer four years ago, Caroline never gave up. She never complained, and fought courageously while maintaining a brave and cheerful face. Through the countless radiation and chemotherapy treatments, x-rays, doctor visits, hospitalizations, and pain, she battled cancer with a positive outlook of a more optimistic future. Through it all, she continued to raise her two children and was devotedly involved in their lives. Caroline’s grandson brought more joy to her life and she loved being his “Mama Carol.” Before her illness Caroline was a capable tennis player and an energetic walker. She loved the kitchen and would whip up the most delicious, home-filling meal. She loved her family to no end and enjoyed “talking stories.”

Caroline, in every way, was the most loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and aunty.  Caroline was a Sr. Bank Teller at Territorial Savings Bank on Maui.

She is survived by her husband, Nelson Guzman; children, Charles (Aileen Ferrer) Guzman, and Shayla Mae Guzman; grandson, Lucas Reid Guzman; parents, Vicente and Criselda Cabanilla; siblings, Catherine (Alvin) Sato, Meryam (Brian) Leong, Vilma (Rolando) Ong, and Juvy (Elven) Ventura; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Feliciano and Clarita Guzman.Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 at St. Anthony Church in Wailuku, prayer service will begin at 8:30 p.m.

Visitation will resume at the church on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 at 10 a.m., Mass at 11 a.m., and burial will follow at Valley Isle Memorial Park at 1 p.m.

Dale Kamelipua Souza, 75, of Kīhei, passed away on Oct. 11, 2016 in Honolulu under Hospice Care. She was born on April 6, 1941 Kula.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Maui Lani Stake Center; service will begin at 11 a.m., and burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park in Wailuku.

Dale is survived by her children, Antoinette L.S. (Melvin) Bantilan, Irene H. (Skip) Zilisch, Anthony (Pamela) Souza III, and Lawrence (Tina Rae) Souza; 15 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Services start at 1 p.m. She is survived by her husband Rodrigo “Rudy” Ojano of Pepeʻekeo; son Joshua Ojano of Pepeʻekeo; daughters Crystal (Lewis) Tollefson of Ainaloa and Rasaree (Brian Harris) Ojano of Mt. View; brothers Mario (Jackie) Badua of California and Curtis (Verna) Badua of Keaʻau; sister Lorie (Larry) Yocum of Honolulu; 4 grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
