Hyatt Regency Maui Welcomes New GM, Fred Findlen

The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa has appointed a new General Manager, Fred Findlen.

A veteran of Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, Findlen brings 31 years of hospitality experience following numerous management positions held at Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in the US and international properties.

Findlen has been with Hyatt since 1985, most recently serving at General Manager at Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino.

“Fred brings a wealth of knowledge of Hyatt Hotels and Resorts to Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa,” said David Nadelman, Area Vice President and General Manager, Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa. “His extensive background in managing Hyatt resorts across country in tropical destinations will provide fantastic value in enhancing the award-winning resort and team.”

Findlen began his career at Hyatt as a corporate management trainee in 1985. Since then, he has climbed the ranks, holding various positions with the Hyatt Regency Orlando, Grand Hyatt Washington, Hyatt Regency Washington, and Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, a Five Diamond property.

In 1994, Findlen relocated to Puerto Rico to serve as assistant general manager of the Hyatt Dorado Beach Resort and Country Club.

In 1997, he was appointed assistant general manager at Hyatt Regency Cerromar, followed by one year as general manager of Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa in Florida.

In 2001, Findlen returned to Hyatt Dorado Beach Resort and Country Club to serve as general manager before moving to Maryland to become general manager of the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina. Findlen most recently served as general manager of the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino from 2010 to 2016.
