Maui Surf Forecast
North: Surf is double to triple overhead at the best breaks some reefs could get up to nearly triple overhead or more today by sunset. Pe’ahi is looking at 18 to 22 foot faces in the morning.
West: Surf is knee/waist high today for most westerly exposures with sets up to tummy/chest high. Exposures with west-northwest wrap (and not blocked by our outer islands) will be bigger.
South: Surf is knee/waist high today for most westerly exposures with sets up to tummy/chest high.
The High Surf Warning has been extended through this afternoon as our current large west-northwest swell ended up filling in slightly later and a few feet bigger than expected yesterday. The swell will continue to slowly fade.
A second round of large surf is forecast for next week between late Tuesday night and Thursday. Will keep an eye on it. This swell could possibly start building by Monday.
The SPAC is quiet but another small sweet is possible around the 22nd.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
