MPD Capt. David Silva Graduates From FBI National Academy
Maui Police Department Captain David Silva graduated from the FBI National Academy program on Dec. 16, 2017 as a member of the 266th Session.
He graduated alongside 232 other law enforcement officers from 48 states and around the world.
Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy program, held at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, offers 11 weeks of advanced investigative, management and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies.
Training for the program is provided by the FBI Academy staff, Special Agents and other members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their field of expertise.
Since 1972, National Academy students have been able to earn undergraduate and graduate credits from the University of Virginia due to the university’s accreditation and the many courses they offer.
Captain Silva is a 30 year veteran of the department and is currently assigned as the Lahaina Patrol Division Commander.
