Canto Promoted to VP of Kahului Branch at First Hawaiian Bank

Sarah T. Canto has been promoted to vice president, Kahului Branch on Maui.

First Hawaiian Bank Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bob Harrison today announced the promotions of the following bank officers to vice president:

Sarah T. Canto has been promoted to vice president at the Kahului Branch on Maui. She oversees the day-to-day operations of the branch to fulfill the diverse financial needs of the bank’s customers. Canto joined First Hawaiian Bank in 1975 as a bookkeeper in the Wailuku Branch, and has since held a number of positions from teller and customer service representative to service supervisor and assistant vice president, service manager.

Coby Barbata has been promoted to vice president, Commercial Real Estate Division. He has 10 years of experience in real estate, finance, development and leasing, and is responsible for origination and administration of loans. He joined First Hawaiian Bank in 2010 as a trust real estate officer in the bank’s Trust Division, and from 2014 was assistant vice president in the Commercial Real Estate Division.

Cecily Ann S.U. Ching has been promoted to vice president and manager, Trust Real Estate Services. She leads a team in managing, operating, selling and leasing various real estate assets under agency and trustee relationships. She joined the First Hawaiian Bank in 2012 as an assistant vice president and trust real estate officer and has more than 27 years of experience in the operational management of large commercial and significant real estate assets. She serves on the boards of ProjectFocus Hawaii and the National Trust Real Estate Association.

Sheri-Ann T. Higa has been promoted to vice president and Mānoa branch manager. She oversees all aspects of branch operations to strengthen customer relationships and drive opportunities for business development. She began her career at the bank 28 years ago as a management trainee and rose through the ranks taking on roles as a service supervisor, personal banking officer, sales manager and, most recently, assistant vice president and Mānoa Branch manager.
