Maui representatives secured about $382 million in Capital Improvement Project funding for various projects across Maui County, including funds for Maui County schools, airports and harbors.

The state budget passed by the House last week included $126.5 million for improvements at Kahului Airport and $63 million for construction of the new Kīhei High School; and another $18.3 million allocated for the Lahaina Boat Harbor ferry pier.

The budget also includes a total of nearly $1.9 billion for FY2018 and $926 million for FY2019 for capital improvement projects throughout the state.

The numbers do not reflect numerous statewide projects which include projects in all counties.
