On Saturday, May 13, 2017 at about 11:19 a.m., a 55-year-old man was found unresponsive at a residence on Waiale Road in Wailuku.

The man was reportedly picking breadfruit from a tree when an aluminum pole he was carrying came into contact with an overhead high voltage power line. Police say the man was apparently electrocuted and fell from the tree onto the ground.

Upon arrival by emergency personnel, the male was found to be lifeless and subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
