Tickets on Sale for 23rd Annual Maui Calls Event
The Maui Arts & Cultural Center will host its 23rd Annual Maui Calls event on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Yokouchi Pavilion and A&B Amphitheater.
Maui Calls is the MACC’s signature fundraising event and Maui’s premier wine and food-tasting event. The night will feature gourmet pūpū by Maui’s award-winning chefs, fine wines from around the world, live entertainment, and silent and live auctions.
Auction items this year include “Uniquely Maui” items such as special Maui landmark adventures and mainland experiences, and “Uniquely MACC” items like autographed music instruments by celebrities who have been on MACC stages throughout the year. Tiffany & Co. will also be present with their “Keys for a Cause” and a chance to win a jewelry item.
The evening will start with a fresh flower lei greeting and Hawaiian music serenade by local favorites. This year there will be a special high-flying performance by Maui Aerials; and, Jimmy Mac and the Kool Kats will wrap up the evening with dance music favorites under the glowing roof of Yokouchi Pavilion.
There will be wines from around the world featured at the event with a selection orchestrated by Alan Jahns, Wine Division Manager of Paradise Beverages. Maui Calls guests can also enjoy a delicious culinary adventure, overseen by Chef Eric Faivre, VP of F&B Operations for Aqua Hospitality/Aston Hotels & Resorts.
The annual event is for residents and visitors ages 21 and older. Tables may be reserved for those who would like to be seated with family, friends and/or business associates. There are numerous premium benefits for table attendees, depending on table tier: reserved seating, preferred parking, table-side service for dinner and beverages, special thank-you gifts, pre-event champagne reception and opportunity to preview and bid on auction items.
Tables and tickets for the event are now available. Tables for 10 are $1,950; $2,500; $5,000; and $10,000.
Table reservations may be coordinated via email or phone to Kathy MacGlashan: Kathy@MauiArts.org or by calling 808-243-4225.
Individual tickets for Maui Calls are $175 for a ‘cruiser’ pass; $195, $250 or $500 for table seating.
All tickets allow the Maui Calls guest access to food creations of Maui’s restaurants and chefs and the chance to sample new wines not yet found on the island; the table tickets offer table seating and service, and special gifts (depending on level.)
Individual tickets may be purchased through the MACC box office at 808-242-SHOW (808-242-7469) or online.
The annual fundraiser provides a significant percentage of the income necessary for the MACC to provide such ongoing free programs for the community such as Starry Night Cinema, ArT=Mixx, the annual Ki Ho‘alu and ‘Ukulele Festivals, and performances for Maui County schoolchildren, including Moloka‘i and Lāna‘i.
