In 2008, the Hawaiʻi State Legislature passed Act 15, which established October as Filipino-American History Month to “commemorate the contributions of Filipino-Americans to the history and heritage of Hawaiʻi and the United States.”

“I invite all residents to attend the Maui Fil-Am Heritage Festival to discover the cultural diversity that makes Maui a special place to work, play and live,” said Mayor Alan Arakawa.

Live entertainment will be provided by La Galeria: Compania Baile Filipino and food samples will be provided by the restaurants who will be at the Maui Fil-Am Heritage Festival including CAA Market Place, Central Mini Mart, Lea’s Halo Halo, Paradise Supermart Fastfood & Catering, R.M. Mini Mart, Randy’s Catering & Fastfood, and Vidad’s Local Kine Grindz.
