Lāna‘i Landfill Closure: Oct. 5–7

The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division, today announced that due to insufficient staffing, the Lāna‘i Landfill will close at 1 p.m. today and on Friday, Oct. 6 and Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017.
The closures are necessary for the department to ensure safe operations and to meet the minimum state Department of Health operating requirements of the county’s solid waste permit.
The Maui County Solid Waste Division apologizes for the inconvenience.
