Parking Limited at HNL Airport Over Memorial Day Weekend

The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation Airports Division alerts travelers of limited parking spaces at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport due to an increase of airport passengers over the Memorial Day weekend.

The public should be aware that on June 1, 2018, construction for the Mauka Concourse expansion project will begin and parking lot B near the Commuter Terminal will be closed, which will eliminate more than 300 stalls.

Travelers who do not return to Honolulu and remove their vehicle by May 31, 2018, will not be able to park in lot B. Signs are posted in lot B alerting drivers of the upcoming closure date. Click here to see a diagram of the closed areas, effective June 1, 2018.

Mokulele Airlines will also be relocating to a new location at HNL Terminal 3 beginning May 29, 2018. The new and improved location is on the Diamond Head side of the airport and can be accessed via Aolele Street with the entrance between the Delta Cargo and United Cargo facility buildings. Passengers should also be advised of the new gate and baggage claim numbering system throughout HNL that will take effect June 1, 2018. For more information regarding the new alpha-numeric identification system please click here.

There are more than 5,000 parking spaces available at HNL. During holiday weekends, typically the Terminal 1 parking garage (formerly named the Interisland Terminal Parking Structure) and the Terminal 2 parking garage (formerly the Overseas Parking Structure) will fill up first. Travelers also have the option to park in the International Parking Structure, which is accessible from the ground floor and top level of the Terminal 1 garage. For more parking information and a map of the parking structures click here.

HDOT encourages travelers to get dropped off at the airport or schedule another method of transportation. Drivers are encouraged to write down the lot you are parked in and the level and location of your vehicle or use your phone to photograph your vehicle location to use as reference upon your return. Drivers should place the parking ticket stub in a safe place that is not visible from the outside of the vehicle. Do not leave it on the dashboard of your car.
