Makawao Third Friday Town Party Hosts “Rodeo Kick Off”
The theme of June’s Makawao Third Friday town party is “Rodeo Kick Off” and activities and performances incorporate a rodeo theme in celebration of the 63rd Annual Makawao Rodeo which begins on July 6, 2018.
Makawao Third Friday takes place on June 15th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Historic Makawao Town. Baldwin Avenue will be closed from the top of Makawao Avenue down to Brewer Street, where guests joining our Makawao Third Friday block party can enjoy entertainment, food, arts and crafts.
Highlights include the Komoda Bakery Keiki Zone witch features activities for the whole family. Magician Timothy Wenk will read minds, predict the future and perform feats of prestidigitation and sleight of hand. The Keiki Zone will also feature the Maui Spider Jump, offering an exhilarating, and unique experience. Crystalline will join in with her balloon twisting creations and Melissa Buck of Rainbow Art will offer creative face painting, hula hooping and lots of bubbles.
Musical entertainment includes The Haiku Hillbilly’s with their unique brand of “funky groovin’ poetic folk” music. Acoustic guitarist Josh will be playing old and new hits in the Maui Hands lot across from Casanova’s on Makawao Avenue. Jamy Woodbury performing on the Sherri Reeve lanai and Pearl Rose will entertain with her incredibly diverse repertoire of karaoke music on the front porch of the Antique Boutique.
Attendees can also stop by The Maui Roping Club booth where they will be offering roping demonstrations where participants can try their hand with the practice steer dummy.
- Maui Classic Cruisers Club will also be showing off their hot rods, muscle cars, and vintage machines at the top of Baldwin Avenue to the bottom by Brewer Road. Guests can talk story with some of Maui’s coolest car owners, aunties, uncles and Makawao historians.
