The Haʻikū Community Association will host an Upcountry candidate’s panel during its upcoming meeting on Wednesday night, June 20 at the Haʻikū Community Center.  The meeting will run from 6:30 p.m to 8 pm.

The meeting will introduce new HCA Project Manager Maile Davis and feature updates from the 2018 legislative session by Representative DeCoite and Senator English. There will also be updates on the Maui County Council budget, activities of the Hamakualoa Aha Moku Council and the Haʻikū School Hoʻolauleʻ’a. Democratic Party Precinct 13-2 members will be recruiting Community Watch block captains.

This will be followed by an Upcountry candidate panel, co-sponsored by HCA and the Pāʻia Town Association. Candidates for the Pāʻia-Haʻikū Council Seat, Hāna Council Seat, State Senate District 7 or State House District 13 have all been invited.

The audience will be able to submit written questions for the candidates about topics important to the Haʻikū-Pāʻia -Huelo community.  This is a great opportunity for all in our community to get to know our legislative and council member candidates.
