A road paving project will begin on Haleakalā National Park’s summit road Monday, July 16, 2018.
Motorists can expect traffic delays of up to 15 minutes between the Headquarter Visitor Center and the park summit.
Road construction is scheduled to take place between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and should have minimal impact on sunrise visitors.
Park rangers say the project will address needed road maintenance and is part of a commitment to provide high quality visitor services.
Construction is scheduled to be completed by Sept. 30, 2018.
