Update: 2:11 p.m. 8.5.18

The Honoapiʻilani Hwy is now OPEN in both directions as of 2:11 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018. It was closed earlier this afternoon following a motor vehicle accident in the Māʻalaea/Waikapū area. Expect delays as traffic resumes its normal flow.

Emergency crews are responding to a motor vehicle accident on the Honoapiʻilani Hwy in Māʻalaea/Waikapū. The road is temporarily closed between the Kūihelani Hwy and Alohi Ui St (Entrance to the Kahili Golf Course in Waikapū) area of Mile 4. Motorists can expect delays.
