Award Winning Artist Kamaka Kukona to Perform at Shops at Wailea
Multi-Nā Hōkū Hanohano award winner Kamaka Kukona and his award-winning hālau will perform at The Shops at Wailea on Wednesday, Sept. 19. Concerts at The Shops, which features headlining local musicians, is a free monthly concert series held every third and fifth Wednesday of the month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at The Shops at Wailea.
Kamaka Kukona’s debut album received two Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards as “Most Promising Artist of the Year” and “Male Vocalist of the Year.” He was also nominated for Best Regional Roots Album in the 57th Annual Grammy Awards.
Each month, the Shops at Wailea donates 60 percent of their concert parking fees to a different non-profit organization. The September non-profit recipient is Best Buddies Hawaiʻi. The Shops’ goal is to enrich the community with arts and music while supporting local businesses and nonprofit partners. The four-hour special event parking voucher is available for $5 and can be purchased at the nonprofit’s parking table.
Next month’s Concerts at The Shops will feature Amy Hanaiali’i on Oct. 17. A complete calendar of events, activities, and entertainment can be found on The Shops at Wailea website or on their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.
