Missing Person: Man Failed to Return from Hike on Moloka‘i

Update: 9.21.18, 3:16 p.m.

A volunteer assisting with the search efforts found a lifeless body on the hillside in an area called Pia Gulch about a half-mile northeast of the Wavecrest Resort at around 9:16 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, 2018.

Maui police say the body was positively identified by family members as Stephen Kramar. An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the official cause of death.  Click here for details.

The Maui Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating Stephen Kramar, who was reported missing on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018.

Kramar was last seen on Monday leaving the Wavecrest Resort in Kaunakakai, Molokaʻi. Police say Kramar was returning from a hike later in the day but never made it back.

Kramar is described as a 27 year old male, standing about 6-feet tall, weighing 160 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Stephen Kramar is asked to call police at (808) 244-6400 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.
