Work to Upgrade Helene Hall in Hāna Slated Oct. 1

Construction work to improve Hāna’s Helene Hall will begin Oct. 1 and continue through November, according to the county’s Department of Parks & Recreation.
Work will be done to improve the building’s hall area and install a reduced pressure back flow preventer. Restrooms and Barefoot Café concessionaire will remain open during the majority of the project.
The public is asked to avoid the construction area for the duration.
The contract was awarded to F&H Construction for $219,000.
