SPACESMaui, an office space company in Makawao, is now officially renamed RUA 37. The company renamed itself following trademark infringement concerns regarding another workspace company, IWG plc, and their brand SPACES. Both companies agreed to resolve the issue after months of discussion.

The company said the name RUA 37 is inspired by the Portuguese influences and stories from upcountry and around the island.

“We are thrilled to announce that we are continuing our operations. We have big plans moving forward serving the people of Maui,” company founder Julius Geis said. “To us, RUA 37 represents the diversity and Aloha of the island of Maui – a melting pot, that today brings people together from around the world.”

SPACESMaui opened in June 2017, aiming to provide rentable office spaces for the community. The rebrand has no impact on running memberships, active punch cards, or vouchers.
