Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center to Hold ‘Halloween Spook-tacular,’ Oct. 31

Queen Ka’ahumanu Center will hold its annual Halloween celebration, “Halloween Spook-tacular,” on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m.

QKC will welcome store-to-store trick-or-treating by those 12 years of age and younger. Participating stores will be designated with an orange balloon.

As part of a national campaign to promote the inclusion of all trick-or-treaters, including those with food allergies, the Guest Services Center adjacent to center court will offer a non-food alternative in support of the Teal Pumpkin Project.

The Maui Friends of the Library will offer one free children’s book per child for those who trick-or-treat at its Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center location.

All giveaways are “while supplies last.”

For the children’s safety, QKC asks that no masks be worn by those 13 years of age and older, and no sharp costume props are permitted.

Center Court will feature Halloween entertainment including a DJ, keiki costume contest with prizes, keiki costume parade, face painting, magic, special meet-and-greet with princesses and super heroes, and “spook-tacular” door prizes.

“Trick or treating at QKC is an annual tradition, and this Halloween will be no different!” said Toni Rojas, vice president of Business & Community Development. “We can’t wait to see all the creative costumes, so come on down and celebrate us, or as we say here, stop by for a spell and party like a mon-star!”
