The Sentry Tournament of Champions HOT SHEET Countdown to Kapalua recaps how each player earned his way into the field of the exclusive winners-only event at The Plantation Course at Kapalua, which takes place in just 28 days from Jan. 2 to 6, 2019.

1. The Brice is Right

• Brice Garnett didn’t let the rain and wind stop him from collecting his first PGA TOUR win at the inaugural Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship in March.
• The 34-year-old Missouri native qualified for the #winnersonly event when he completed the wire-to-wire victory in the Dominican Republic with a 2-under 70 for a four-stroke win over Keith Mitchell.
• The Sentry Tournament of Champions’ first-timer looks to “keep kicking butt” as he heads to Maui.

2. Satoshi in Hawaiʻi

• Has a nice ring to it… right? Satoshi Kodaira captured his first PGA TOUR victory at RBC Heritage [and probably his first plaid jacket] in just his 15th TOUR start to qualify for a trip to the Sentry Tournament of Champions.
• After coming from six shots back at the start of the day, the Japan native rolled in a birdie putt from 25 feet at the par-3 17th hole, the third hole of a sudden-death playoff, to defeat Si Woo Kim.

3. Landing in Maui

• It was a family affair for Andrew Landry when the Texas native claimed his first PGA TOUR victory at the Valero Texas Open.
• The 30-year-old parred the final seven holes for a 4-under 68 and a two-stroke victory over Trey Mullinax and Sean O’Hair. The victory qualified him for his first trip to Maui and a chance for him to trade in those cowboy boots for flip flops. #FromYeehawtoAloha

4. One Wise Guy Allowed

• Let’s face it, the youth movement on TOUR is well underway. Want proof? How about rookie Aaron Wise winning the AT&T Byron Nelson by three strokes for his first PGA TOUR victory at just 21 years old.
• The 2017-18 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year shattered the AT&T Byron Nelson record at 23 under, shooting a 6-under 65 to defeat Marc Leishman and qualify for a spot in the Sentry Tournament of Champions.

5. Like Mike

• Pure domination. Michael Kim collected his first PGA TOUR victory when he shot a final-round 66 to win the John Deere Classic by a record-setting eight strokes.
• Kim finished at 27-under 257 to break Steve Stricker’s tournament record from 2010 by one shot. The 25-year-old surpassed Stricker’s mark with a 21-foot putt on No. 16 and qualified for his first trip to the Sentry Tournament of Champions with the victory #HighFive

6. A Put(nam) For the Win…

• and his first PGA TOUR title. Andrew Putnam won the Barracuda Championship holding off Chad Campbell by four points in the modified Stableford scoring event.
• The 28-year-old closed with a 22-foot birdie from off of the green on the par-5 18th for his breakthrough victory at Montreux Country Club and qualified for a spot in the Sentry Tournament of Champions.
• Putnam is no stranger to Maui, as he takes his annual family trip to the Hawaiian island, but this time it’ll be a working vacation. #PackYour[Golf]Bags

7. (T)way to Play

• Kevin Tway started his 2018-19 season in dramatic fashion, winning the Safeway Open in a playoff and collecting his first PGA TOUR victory since joining the TOUR in 2014.
• The 30-year-old former Oklahoma State All-American defeated Ryan Moore with a 10-foot birdie putt on the third playoff hole after Brandt Snedeker was eliminated on the first playoff hole. The win made Tway and his father, Bob (an eight-time TOUR winner) the 10th father-son duo to win on TOUR and first since 2014. With the victory, Tway qualified for his first appearance in the Sentry Tournament of Champions.

8. (CHAMP)ion

• Just one month after advancing through the Web.com Tour finals to the PGA TOUR, rookie Cameron Champ is on his way to Kapalua after winning the Sanderson Farms Championship for his first PGA TOUR victory.
• Champ birdied five of the last six holes to close with a 4-under 68 for a four-stroke victory over Corey Conners in just his ninth start on the TOUR and second as an official member of the TOUR. With the win, Champ qualified for his first trip to the Sentry Tournament of Champions.
• We’re looking forward to seeing drives like this from the TOUR rookie on the famous 18th hole at The Plantation Course at Kapalua… think he can outdrive Davis Love III’s 476-yard drive (aka the longest official drive recorded on the PGA TOUR since 2003) on the par-5 from 2004?
