Water Conservation Urged.
The County of Maui Department of Water Supply is advising customers in Kaunakakai on the island of Molokaʻi to conserve water this week while the Kualapuʻu Well is out of service.
The pump motor went down early Saturday morning, and repair is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018.
The Kualapuʻu Well is the primary source of water for Kaunakakai; however, the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands is providing water to the county system at this time, in addition to their own customers.
Customers can reduce water use by turning off irrigation systems, hold off on washing cars, and reducing or postponing other non-essential water uses.
