Imua Family Services will be hosting their annual gala on Saturday, March 30 at the Hyatt Regency Maui in Kāʻanapali. The goal of the gala is to raise funds for early childhood development programs and services that meet the needs of Maui Countyʻs children living with disabilities and developmental delays. The theme for this yearʻs gala is The Carnival de Venice Mascheranda Grand Ball.

This eventʻs theme is meant to take guests to Venice to experience the extravagant Mascheranda Grand Ball, a world-renowned Carnival party in Venice. The Hyatt Regency’s Monarchy Ballroom will be transformed into a candlelit palace to replicate the carnival. The gala will also spotlight Down Syndrome, a genetic disorder that affects 1 in 700 babies, according to Imua Family Services.

The gala will begin with a “Hearts and Dreams” cocktail reception, followed by performances from Tony nominated actor and singer Denee Benton and the Hawaiʻi Opera Theatre. At the end of the night, a grand prize will be given to the best themed masquerade costume.

This year, Imua Family Services will present three legacy awards to community members and organizations in honor of their commitment to the Maui community. After the event, there will be a “Casanovaʻs After Party of Lovers” with dancing until 2 a.m.
