The Hāna Highway is now open in both directions. It was closed earlier this morning in the Maliko Gulch area due to a traffic accident reported at around 6:22 a.m.

Hāna Highway is temporarily closed in both directions at Maliko Gulch due to a motor vehicle accident.

Emergency crews are on scene. Motorists are advised to use an alternate route.
Maui police say it is unknown when the road will reopen as police investigate.
