Maui Crime Jan. 6-12, 2019: Burglaries, Break-Ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 10 burglaries, 14 vehicle thefts and 23 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Jan. 6-12, 2019.

Burglaries and vehicle thefts were down, but vehicle break-ins more than doubled from week before levels.

Burglaries were down -33% from the week before when 15 incidents were reported over the seven day period. Vehicle thefts were down -6% from the week before when 15 incidents were reported; and vehicle break-ins increased +64% from the week before when 14 incidents were reported.

Kahului:

  • Sunday, Jan. 6, 8:13 a.m.: 685 Haleakalā Hwy, Kahului at DLNR. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Sunday, Jan. 6, 4:04 p.m.: 100 block of E Hawaiʻi St, Kahului. Residential, forced entry.

Lahaina:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 8, 7:27 a.m.: 535 Waineʻe St, Lahaina at Waiola Church. Non-residential, unlawful entry.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 8, 8:19 p.m.: 1-XX Kekai Rd, Lahaina. Residential, forced entry.

Nāpili:
