Maui police arrested a woman after finding a stolen silver 2007 Ford Explorer on Stable Road in Spreckelsville on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019.

The incident was reported at around 7:30 p.m.  Police say they found 21-year-old Ashonte Fair operating the vehicle, with a 29-year-old man as a passenger.  Both have no local address, according to police reports.

Fair was arrested for unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and was initially released pending further investigation.  Police say Fair was also held on unrelated arrest warrants totaling $500.

According to court documents, Fair was last being held in lieu of $1,000 bail and was ordered to appear for a continued preliminary and bail hearing on Friday afternoon, Feb. 1, 2019.

According to department reports, a search warrant was later executed on the vehicle.  Police say they found found drugs and a handgun with ammunition. Those cases have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for review.
