Willie K’s St. Patrick’s Day Golf Tournament
Willie K’s St. Patrick’s Day Golf Tournament takes place on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Wailea Blue Course. This fundraising event will benefit Maui’s own Willie K while he continues his fight against lung cancer with all proceeds going directly to the Willie K Cancer Fund.
Willie has been playing music and entertaining audiences for almost four decades and has helped raise money and awareness for dozens of organizations and fundraisers throughout his career.
Event organizers say, “Now it is our turn to give back to one of Hawaiʻi’s most amazing local entertainers the world has ever seen. Cancer affects so many people in so many ways. Everyone
knows someone who is afflicted by this deadly disease so we will make this golf tournament an annual event to help many more entertainers in the future.”
For this year’s golf tournament, funds raised will NOT be tax-deductible as it will go directly to Willie K’s personal Cancer Fund.
Willie is creating a non-profit organization called Stage 4 Cancer Foundation, which will help those in the entertainment business stricken with this debilitating disease. “This has been Willie’s dream for years as he has seen his fellow entertainers struggle to support their family in times of crisis,” said organizers Mike O’Dwyer and Gus Hoeft in an event announcement.
The sponsor amount for a team of four starts at $1,000, which includes lunch, live entertainment, pictures with FOCUS models, fun contests and hole in ones and food and drink tents along the course.
Following the tournament, a banquet is planned with live music from Maui’s best entertainers at Mulligan’s on the Blue, and some songs by Willie K himself.
“Willie insists you must wear green,” organizers said.
Shamrock Sponsors for the Tournament will receive entry for one team of four players, tee sponsorship, recognition in all publicity-related materials, four extra banquet tickets ($500 value) and more. Hole Sponsorships or prize donations are also being accepted.
