Maui Gas Prices Change Slightly This Week
Maui gas prices in Kahului and Wailuku averaged $3.60 a gallon for regular. That’s is one cent higher than last Thursday, five cents higher than last month and 34 cents lower than a year ago.
Gas prices changed just slightly in most areas of the islands in the past week, according to the AAA Hawaiʻi Weekend Gas Watch.
Today’s statewide average price is $3.35 a gallon, which is two cents higher than last Thursday, eight cents higher than a month ago and 16 cents less than a year ago, according to GasPrices.AAA.com.
“2019 has been a remarkably stable year for Hawaiʻi gas prices so far,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaiʻi general manager. “The state average has remained within a range between $3.25 and $3.37 a gallon since Jan. 1.”
In Honolulu, the average price for regular is $3.20, which is a penny higher than last Thursday, nine cents higher than on this date a month ago and 16 cents lower than on this date last year.
The Hilo average price is $3.46, which is down one cent from last Thursday, 11 cents more than on this date last month and eight cents lower than on this date a year ago.
Līhue’s average price for regular is $3.52, which is the same as last Thursday, four cents higher than on this date last month and nine cents lower than a year ago today.
