Maui Man Arrested in Alleged Break-In, Sex Assault of 3-Year-Old
UDATE: According to court records, bail has been maintained at $250,000 and Dalton Steuer remains in custody at last report. The hearing has been continued to May 2, 2019 and a three panel examination has been ordered.
PREVIOUS POST: Maui police arrested a Haʻikū man after an early morning break-in and sex-assault reported against a three-year-old girl in Kīhei.
The incident was reported at around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2019.
Maui police Lieutenant Gregg Okamoto said that the young girl reported to her mother that an unknown male had come into her room and had allegedly sexually assaulted her.
According to police reports, the mother looked outside their residence and saw a male matching the description given by her daughter.
Police later located the male nearby and arrested him.
Lt. Okamoto said the male was identified as Dalton Steuer, 24, of Haʻikū, Maui.
He was charged for the offenses of first degree burglary and first degree sexual assault.
His bail was set at $250,000.
