Mary Poppins Returns, the film sequel to the original 1964 Mary Poppins film, will be presented as a free showing as part of the MACC’s Starry Night Cinema on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 7 p.m.

Mary Poppins Reyrns, the film sequel to the original 1964 Mary Poppins film, will be screened at the MACC for free on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 7 p.m. PC: MACC.

Film attendees should bring a low-back beach chair and/or a blanket and spread out on the A&B Amphitheater lawn for the film screening. Attendees can arrive early and enjoy live preshow musical entertainment with Conner Snow and Jake Smith on keyboard plus a free keiki art activity.

Food and beverages from local food trucks will be available. If the weather is inclement, the movie will still be shown in Castle Theater; seating is first come/first seated. No coolers or outside food/beverages allowed.

(In case of inclement weather, the film screening will be moved into the Castle Theater.)

Mary Poppins Returns stars Emily Blunt as the eponymous character with Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, Julie Walters, Dick Van Dyke, Angela Lansbury, Colin Firth, and Meryl Streep in supporting roles.

About the film: Set in 1930s London, 25 years after the events of the original film, Mary Poppins, the former nanny of Jane and Michael Banks, returns one year after a family tragedy. Now an adult with three children, bank teller Michael Banks learns that his house will be repossessed in five days unless he can pay back a loan. His only hope is to find a missing certificate that shows proof of valuable shares that his father left him years earlier. Just as all seems lost, Michael and his sister receive the surprise of a lifetime when Mary Poppins — the beloved nanny from their childhood — arrives to save the day and take the Banks family on a magical, fun-filled adventure.

The film is rated PG and has a running time of 2 hrs 17 minutes.
