Maui Man Injured in Shore Break at “Big Beach”

A 20-year-old man was pulled from the water at Oneloa “Big Beach” on Saturday after friends saw him dive into the shore break and fail to surface.
Maui Fire Services Chief Rylan Yatsushiro said the man was responsive, but sustained a possible spinal injury.
Fire crews assisted medics on scene with treatment and loaded the man for transport to the Maui Memorial Medical Center for further care.
The incident was reported at around 5:08 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2019.
