ʻAhahui Kaʻahumanu Hosts Lei Fundraiser
The ladies of ʻAhahui Kaʻahumanu Wailuku Chapter IV host a lei fundraiser during the graduation and wedding season.
The styles offered include a ti-leaf garland (simulating a maile lei look) at $20 each, and nonperishable ribbon/kukui nut lei at two for $25.
Lei makers create the latter in the customer’s choice of hues, to match graduating students’ high school colors, such as maroon and blue for Baldwin; blue and white for Kamehameha; red and white for Lahainaluna.
Proceeds benefit the ʻAhahui Kaʻahumanu annual post-high school scholarship awards program.
For orders or information, contact Shirley at 760-8950, or Pualani Barros at 359-1335 or email [email protected]
The ʻAhahui Kaʻahumanu is a statewide Hawaiian women’s benevolent society promoting Hawaiian culture and language.
Members’ signature regalia includes black muʻu, hat, gloves and shoes, plus gold lei hulu, or feather neck garland.
