Lahaina Committee to Host 7th Annual Lahaina Golf Classic
The Lahaina Town Action Committee is calling on golfers to participate in their 7th annual Lahaina Golf Classic on Saturday, May 4 at the Royal Kaʻanapali Golf Course. A portion of the tournament proceeds will go towards Lahaina Junior Golf.
The festivities will kick off at 8 a.m. with a four-golfer scramble shotgun start. Registration will be held at 7 a.m. and costs $150 for the Silver Tier which includes 18 holes of golf on the Royal Kaʻanapali Golf Course, golf cart, awards luncheon and prizes for each team. The Gold Tier, which costs $200, will also include these perks in addition to prizes for longest drive for both male and female, closest to the pin for male and female, Split the Pot and Beat the Pro. A four golfer scramble-shotgun start format where prizes, food and fun can be found at every hole.
Woodworking artist Paul Kasprzycki carved the perpetual trophy for the tournament, which will be presented at an award luncheon following the tournament at Royʻs Kaʻanapali. The luncheon will be held from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will include a silent auction.
Since their first tournament in 2013, the Lahaina Town Action Committee has donated over $30,000 to Lahaina Junior Golf.
“This is a unique golf classic with many merchants contributing to the fun. Games and refreshments on selected holes,” Lahaina Town Action Committee President Sne Patel said. “ʻOno grinds provided by Cool Cat Cafe and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., so bring your appetite and your golf skills. Prizes for every team so everyone is a winner at the Lahaina Golf Classic.”
The golfer to score a hole in one on a selected hole will win a brand new car from Jim Falk’s Valley Isle Motors. Golfers planning to participate in the tournament may register online or by calling the Lahaina Visitor Center at (808) 667-9175.
