Pools of ‘Ohe‘o Now Open, Stream Monitoring Equipment Repaired

Haleakalā National Park’s stream monitoring system in Kīpahulu has been repaired and the area known as the Pools of ‘Ohe‘o is now open. Park staff reports that necessary software updates and modifications were made to correct the issues.

The rain forest section of Kīpahulu is high above and often rainy. The streams of the rain forest drain through the Pools
of ‘Ohe‘o into the ocean and flooding can occur at any time.
For safety, the public is advised to stay out of closed areas.
