The County of Maui Department of Transportation announced that beginning Monday, July 1, 2019, the Maui Bus is implementing reduced single boarding fares of $1.00 for fixed route service. This reduced fare applies to seniors (55 years & older), paratransit eligible and person with a disability (with pertinent valid ID), and Medicare card holders.

Maui Bus. PC: Wendy Osher.

Seniors 55 years and older will need to show a valid ID displaying their date of birth. Paratransit eligible persons will need to show a valid Paratransit ID card. Persons with a disability will need to show their valid persons with a disability fixed route ID card.  Medicare card holders will need to show their valid Medicare card.

These reduced fares are being offered because public transportation law requires public transportation agencies that receive Federal Transit Administration funding under the Section 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Program to offer half fare or reduced fares on the fixed route service.

General fares for the Maui Bus are $2.00 per boarding or $4.00 for a daily pass.  Monthly passes are also available.
