Shark sighting Kamaole. Maui Now graphic.

A shark sighting on Saturday, June 29, 2019, forced the temporary closure of Kamaʻole Beaches 1, II and III.

Maui police say water officials had planned to reassess the situation at 2 p.m.

In the meantime, the public was advised to stay out of the water.
