Maui celebrated the Fourth of July holiday weekend with annual traditions that included the 54th Annual Makawao Rodeo Parade on Saturday, and the Fourth of July fireworks display in Lahaina Town on Thursday.
The Makawao event featured the annual Stick Horse Race for keiki, face painting, a window decorating contest and a parade led by Grand Marshall Wayne Asue.
Meantime, the Fourth of July festivities in Lahaina took place on Thursday. The event historically draws more than 20,000 visitors and kama’āina who gather to observe the island’s only public fireworks display, which were set off from a barge offshore from Front Street.
On Lānaʻi, an Independence Day celebration also featured aerial fireworks at Dole Park as part of the 26th Annual Lānaʻi Pineapple Festival on Saturday.
