The Maui County Council’s Affordable Housing Committee will hold a district meeting in Lahaina on Wednesday, July 24 beginning at 6 p.m. at the West Maui Senior Center, located at 788 Pauoa Street in Lahaina.
The meeting agenda includes a review of item AH-24, “Kaiaulu o Kupuohi Apartments Project in West Maui (Formerly Known as Kai Mauka Ike Nui).” Also referred to as the “Star Noodle project,” the planned 84 rental units are being developed by Ikaika Ohana below the Lahaina Bypass along Kupuohi Street. The public is invited to hear a presentation by the developer and offer testimony on the project.
“We are committed to bringing housing to where residents work to help alleviate traffic problems, and we look forward to hearing from the public to gain their input on this project,” said AH Committee Chair Tasha Kama.
Individuals may sign up in person to provide testimony at the meeting; testimony may also be submitted via email by sending to AH.Committee@mauicounty.us. The meeting will be broadcast live online at https://www.akaku.org/channel-53/ and on television, AKAKU Ch. 53.
