Fatal Fall at “Chutes and Ladders” Area

A 37-year-old Kentucky woman died during a visit to the popular “Chutes and Ladders” area north of Honokōhau Thursday morning.
Maui County Fire and Public Safety officials said the woman fell 75 feet off the cliff side while climbing from the shoreline sometime prior to 11:30 a.m. When rescue crews arrived at the scene the woman was unresponsive and CPR was already in progress.
The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
